This show is constantly delivering at the moment and this week we have a #1 contenders match between Mustafa Ali and Tony Nese. Get in my belly!

Drake Maverick is our host once again at the top of the show, congratulating Mustafa Ali and Hideo Itami on their excellent falls count anywhere match from last week. He then builds the matches this week - former partners turned enemies Jack Gallagher and Brian Kendrick and the main event between Mustafa Ali and Tony Nese.

What condition will Mustafa be in after last week's match? Will Ali pick up the victory he has been striving for since his loss at Wrestlemania or will Tony Nese pick up yet another main event victory?

BRIAN KENDRICK v JACK GALLAGHER (W/ DREW GULAK)

We get a recap of how this match came about with Gulak and Gallagher throwing Kendrick out of their trio due to the fact he had become too sentimental and showed mercy in their opinion.

- Kendrick takes it to Gallagher to begin with and hits a baseball slide.

- Gallagher turns the tide by ramming his ribs into the apron.

- Jack Gallagher continues to target the ribs back in the ring.

- Kendrick shows fire on his knees saying COME ON!

- Gallagher does with boots to the face...

- Wobbly legged Kendrick hits a big back body drop!

- Single leg dropkick for 2 by Kendrick!

- Tiger suplex for 2!

- CAPTAIN'S HOOK!

- Gallagher reaches the rope with his leg to break the hold.

- Jack hits the AWESOME float over chokehold first seen at the Albert Hall!

- Now it is Kendrick who finds the rope with his foot!

- Gallagher misses the dropkick in the corner!

- Superkick by Kendrick!

- Gulak gets on the apron to interfere but out of nowhere Akira Tozawa arrives!

- SLICED BREAD #2!!!

- BRIAN KENDRICK WINS!

- That was lots of fun, I enjoyed that Kendrick went for the jugular from the start after the attack on him weeks back, the match built very well too with both wrestlers showing heart to not give up from their submission moves. Then we got the payoff of Tozawa saving Kendrick to pay him back for doing the same last time out. Thumbs up!

Gallagher and Gulak were furious that Tozawa evened the numbers!

CEDRIC ALEXANDER BACKSTAGE

GM Drake Maverick says that he owes Cedric an explanation about the main event. He says that Cedric will get his rematch - but when he deems that he is ready. Since you lost the Championship, you have lost three matches in a row and are not at the level you were - it's not fair to put you in a championship match at this point.

It would be unfair on the fans and on him too. He hopes he understands his decision. Cedric admits that he has been off lately, but when he is back to his best he WANTS a rematch.

- I absolutely love that the GM on this show has logic and reason behind his decisions and is given time to explain them. It's very effective and makes the title feel prestigious.

Drake Maverick explained why Cedric hasn't had his title shot yet

GRAN METALIK (W/ LUCHA HOUSE PARTY) v JAVIER BOTAS Y MEDIAS

Gran Metalik gets a VT promo which is subtitled and says that TJP doesn't show actions of a man. But he is and challenges him, man to man. The guy talking here didn't look like Gran Metalik though? That was weird?

- Javier looks nothing like his name would have you imagine. He actually looks like Val Venis in his last WWE run!

- Backflips from Metalik to show off his speed and agility.

- Metalik hits two lucha moves to floor his opponent.

- He walks the rope and jumps from the middle to land a huge elbow!

- GRAN METALIK WINS!

- Metalik goes to the corner to celebrate but TJP arrives and kicks his leg out from underneath him!

- He then rips the mask off of him and bails whilst the Lucha House Party cover Metalik's face.

- This was a squash to build Metalik up ahead of a future match with TJP and then Perkins getting even more heat by taking another mask from the House Party. TJP is great in this role showing no respect and being a douche. Commentary sold the loss of the mask well as being a huge sign of disrespect and how Metalik must have felt.

Gran Metalik squashed his opponent but lost his mask to TJP!

BUDDY MURPHY BACKSTAGE

He is asked about his meeting with Drake Maverick earlier today and he reveals that next week, 205 Live is in Manchester, England. Home of the UK division. But this is his show so he is going to take on their best - Mark Andrews - and beat him.

He is then asked about tonight's main event, what if Tony Nese wins? His demeanour changes and he goes from cocky to angry... NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!

- I'm excited for the prospect of next week's match and I liked his change of stance once the thought of him taking on his training partner was brought up. Does he not believe that he can beat him? Or is he angry he knows it ruins his backup as champion? Or both?

Check this main event next week!

MIKE AND MARIA KANELLIS INTERVIEW

Maria makes the interviewer scram and says 'I'm better than you anyways'. How does it feel to be the GREATEST competitor on 205 Live? Just as he begins to answer TJP comes scampering backstage still holding Metalik's mask.

He wants to show Kanellis the ropes here as he was the first ever Cruiserweight champion. Maria sees through him and says you pushed things too far with the Lucha House Party and now you come running to my husband for protection... It's OK. When opportunity knocks... we answer. Let's talk business.

- I liked this a lot. It got the Kanellis couple over as being rude and annoying - also craving for screen time. Quite the heat magnet. TJP looks in up to his neck and is desperate for the help. This is a union built on necessity not trust.

A new union has been formed...

MUSTAFA ALI v TONY NESE (#1 CONTENDERSHIP MATCH)

Mustafa Ali arrives down the entrance ramp all bandaged up showing the battle scars from last week. Neither man gets a considerable reaction which is a massive shame as it shows not many are watching these shows because both have been killing it.

- Nese goes STRAIGHT for the injured and bandaged ribcage of Ali.

- Tony Nese brags to the crowd who respond with boos.

- Mustafa Ali runs the ring ropes at such speed he clips Nese and almost lands on his head but rolls through and hits a head scissors. WHAT A BLOKE.

- Cross body to the outside by Ali but Nese rolls through!

- FALLAWAY SLAM ON THE RAMP!

- Nese slams Ali onto the guardrail.

- He then goes for the ribs again with a bearhug and knees to the ribs.

- The crowd begin to get behind Ali who is selling like a boss.

- Tornado DDT is reversed by Nese who hits a Northern Lights Suplex!

- Nese applies the body scissors putting more pressure on the ribs.

- Ali sweeps Nese's legs from under him and he lands on the turnbuckle!

- High angle powerbomb by Ali!!

- Rolling facebuster!

- Tope Con Hilo from Ali to the outside!

- Mustafa Ali hits the crossbody off the top but can't pin as he sells the rib injury.

- WOW. A succession of strikes from both ending with a superkick to the BACK OF NESE'S HEAD!

- 054 scouted by Nese.

- Tornado DDT lands for Ali though!

- Chestbreaker off the top rope by Nese! I love how much of his moveset has been aimed at the ribs!

- Nese begins to rip away the bandages whilst laying in some nasty kicks to the ribs!

- Tony Nese starts arguing with the ref, who is willing him to stop.

- Ali manages to perform a roll through pin!

- MUSTAFA ALI WINS!

- Tony Nese stands over Ali looking menacing

- Cedric Alexander storms the ring and picks up Mustafa Ali.

- He lifts his arm in victory and Ali can barely do that holding his ribs.

- Buddy Murphy's music hits and Nese & Murphy stare down Alexander & Ali.

- I absolutely loved that. Ali had bad ribs and sold them throughout. His offence was kept to a minimum and he showed amazing tenacity to beat Nese who had a brilliant gameplan. Nese looked great here too, only taking his eye off the ball in frustration and rage cost him the match. We got a glimmer of will Cedric turn on Ali but thankfully they didn't pull that trigger yet. These four are having a great feud now and we can get many great matches out of it. FANTASTIC.

Mustafa Ali has earned himself a title shot!

Yet another brilliant episode. At just 43 minutes this is a breeze to watch and the quality of the storytelling and the wrestling is spot on. Imagine if it had an invested crowd who actually watched the product?!
