I have watched 6 Stardom shows since the last Korakuen Hall show, they are a mix of the multi person tags, Natsu and Jamie banter and some top-class bangers at the top end of the card. Rather than run through every match I will write a little piece about what each faction has been up to and point out anything I definitely recommend.
Let us start with J.A.N, the faction had lost every match they had been in so far in 2019, but there was a slight upturn in their fortunes here.
In the first match Ruaka was not pinned! She also didn’t win the match, but not being on the losing side in a 3-way tag was a good start to the Future Warriors performances on this loop.
She also was involved in 2 victories in a 6 woman with Ilda and Yoneyama and a tag with Yoneyama as well, both victories at the expense of the sisters. Ruaka also featured in 3 singles matches, which meant I got to hear her music. A sort of J.A.N theme crossed with Super Mario.
She was not victorious in any of these however. She avoided the pin in a 3 way with Rina and Natsu, which I think bordered on child abuse as Natsu literally whipped children, before going down to Alex Gracia and Kashima in one on one matches. The second of these was cut short as she suffered a dislocated shoulder. Get well soon Ruaka.
The rest of J.A.N did not fare so well either, suffering multi person defeats to Queens Quest and STARS. Saya Ilda ‘paying her dues’ by taking a lot of beatings in these matches. Only JK really getting any real success on offence unless it was a numbers advantage.
The team of Natsuko and JK also came up short in a Goddesses of Stardom Title match against Momo Watanabe and The Best Belt Machine Utami Hayashishita. This was really good and is on the recommend list.
Following that defeat J.A.N went on a two-match winning streak with a tag team victory over the Tokyo Cyber Patrol when JK pinned Bobbi Tyler, followed up with a 6-woman victory over the Stars reserves, well Kashima was there, but no Hoshiki, Mayu or Tam.
In the final show of the loop the winning streak was ended in an Elimination Match against Queens Quest. Natsuko got a big elimination on Momo, but was defeated by Utami to leave Queens Quest victorious.
A slightly better month for J.A.N but still a long way from what they want to be. Still 4th place in the faction table.
JK looks like she can hang with the other faction leaders but isn’t quite able to get that big win yet.
Natsuko mixed it up well with some big names in the tag matches this section, there seemed to be more focus on her than before.
Yoneyama is a blast. She knows her role and does it well.
Ilda is taking a beating and learning her craft, she looks like she has potential.
Ruaka, sadly is on the shelf for a little while. Translate tweet tells me she isn’t too bad.
Also, someone called Leo Onozaki(?) turned up and said she was back! I looked her up on cagematch and I think she is the only person to lose a singles match to Ruaka so I can’t see this bringing a huge improvement to J.A.N’s position in the faction table.
