NXT UK Ep.14 (05/12/2018)

Writer's picture: WSBFWSBF

Vic Joseph and Nigel McGuinness highlight the matches tonight including Wolfgang v Travis Banks.

JOSEPH CONNERS v DAN MOLONEY

Wait, is Dan Moloney a face now? Let's see, I guess...

- Lock up to begin. Traditionalists!

- Moloney is getting the DAN shouts... some Alan Partdridge fans are in the house!

- Dan hits Conners down, then yells C'MON to the crowd and smiles! He's a face, alright!

- Conners rips at the ear of Moloney... he's trying to tear it off like he has suffered!

- Double stomp in the corner from Conners!

- Conners then puts Moloney through the second and third ropes and applies a necklock, bending his opponent's body in a way it really shouldn't...

- STIFF forearms to the back of Moloney followed by a short arm clothesline.

- Moloney fights out of a submission and lands a spinebuster! That's rewarded with Dan chants!

- Sunset flip powerbomb into the corner by Conners!

- DON'T LOOK DOWN!

- JOSEPH CONNERS WINS!

- That was worked at an old school pace and I actually really enjoyed it. The crowd didn't get all that heated, once the crowd hate Conners he will become a big player on this brand in my opinion. He has it in him, at the moment he isn't facing 'loved' wrestlers. That may be the turning point.

ISLA DAWN INTERVIEW

Isla Dawn says that who she is and what she does comes from a place of good spirit and that is the qualities I need to set me on my way to becoming the new NXT UK Women's champion. Rhea Ripley interferes and says she already has competition tonight, but if she was Dawn, she would be watching very, very closely.

- So it seems that Isla Dawn will be getting a shot at Rhea Ripley soon... I wonder who Ripley is facing tonight?

GALLUS & BRITISH STRONG STYLE CONFRONTATION

Tyler Bate and Trent Seven are walking to the arena talking about their fashionable clothes when Gallus come up to them. They mention Pete Dunne isn't here to save them this time and call Tyler Bate a tea boy. Get me my coffee!

The referees and Sid Scala attempt to break things up but can't. Head disciplinarian Johnny Saint turns up and does the job. STAND BACK! DO AS I SAY. CLEAR OFF, THE LOT OF YOU.

I bloody love Johnny Saint. He's that bloke you were afraid to go round his house and ask for your ball back after you've hit it in his garden.

WILD BOAR v DAVE MASTIFF

Bloody hell, this is going to be HOSS!

- Boar starts slapping himself to psyche himself up to face The Bomber!

- Mastiff urges Boar to hit him. Boar brings the forearms and punches, but Mastiff takes him down with one hit of his mass!

- Bomber Mastiff then rains elbows to the temple of Boar!

- Running back senton in the corner by Boar!

- Fish-hook by Boar on Mastiff! Trying to slice the mouth of the big man!

- Mastiff fights out and FLOORS Boar with a headbutt!

- Big Dave then SPLATS Boar with the senton.

- Boar wriggles out of a slam and forces Mastiff into the corner. A running spear sends him down, so he goes for another running back senton but Mastiff gets his feet up!

- RUNNING MISSILE DROPKICK BY MASTIFF!

- CANNONBALL!

- BOMBER DAVE MASTIFF WINS!

- Man, I love Dave Mastiff. His winning streak continues - who is next for the man from the Black Country?

DAVE MASTIFF BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW

Radzi congratulates Dave Mastiff on his victory and The Bomber says thanks. He gives props to Wild Boar but said he told you he was going to the top. A shadow appears out of focus, listening in to Mastiff. When Mastiff leaves, the focus turns to the figure... It's Eddie Dennis!

- I love the way this was filmed, a lurking presence in the background of Dave Mastiff's future... seems we now know who is next for him!

TYSON T-BONE v LIGERO

- Wow. Big pop for Ligero!

- Ligero uses his speed advantage to evade T-Bone's strikes to begin.

- Ligero hits an enzuigiri from the apron to T-Bone!

- He attempts to springboard back into the ring but eats a right hand!

- T-Bone punches Ligero repeatedly in the midsection.

- Nigel McGuinness mentions he has a Virgin Mary on that right hand as an apology for what he is to do with it. As T-Bone lays in the punches, Nigel snaps 'Say hello to Mary!'. Brilliant!

- HUGE fallaway slam by T-Bone!

- T-Bone misses the corner charge. Ligero flips over him and floors him with a single leg dropkick!

- Springboard sliced bread #2 from Ligero!

- EXPLODER BY T-BONE!

- Hip attack by T-Bone! "That's like getting hit by a caravan, Nigel!"

- T-Bone misses the knock out punch, then the corner charge and falls outside...

- Ligero hits the somersault senton off the apron!

- SPRINGBOARD SPLASH BACK IN THE RING!

- LIGERO WINS!

- The crowd love Ligero and he continues his path to redemption after his main event loss to Jordan Devlin a few weeks back.

RHEA RIPLEY v CANDYFLOSS

Rhea Ripley gets some positive chants from the crowd. Bit weird, but OK. "I'm all about opportunities... I took mine and became the first ever champion. Now I have handpicked someone from the back to have the opportunity of a lifetime..."

Who is it going to be? IT'S CANDYFLOSS! I've danced with her at a bar with Dom!

- Nigel says "For any of our North American xenophobes, candyfloss is what we call our cotton candy." What a bloke.

- We get an honourable handshake to start. Is this a new Rhea Ripley?

- Then we get a clean break from Ripley... what is going on??!

- Rhea Ripley works a wristlock

- Candyfloss rolls out of the hold

- She uses great grappling skills to release Rhea's grip and land a missile dropkick!

- Go on Candyfloss!

- Candyfloss celebrates... Rhea looks shocked.

- Ripley nods and then lands a dropkick of her own.

- Rhea then locks in a savage looking chokehold

- RIPTIDE!

- RHEA RIPLEY WINS!

- Post match, Rhea Ripley picks up Candyfloss and raises her hand... then blindsides her with a forearm to the back! There's the real Rhea Ripley! She then mounts her and lands even more forearms. BOOOO. I really enjoyed that. Ripley played nice, but it was all for show. She's the champion, she's vicious and at the moment... she looks unstoppable.

FLASH MORGAN WEBSTER BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW

Glen Joseph asks after Morgan's win with Andrews last time out as a team, what is next for him? Flash says that the tag division is heating up, but before he can continue he spots Fabian Aichner and breaks off from the interview.

He tells Aichner he didn't appreciate what he did to Mark Andrews last week. Aichner says how about you do something about it in the ring next week?

Aichner and Andrews put on an absolute banger last time out, these two will do the same. Hype!

WOLFGANG (W/THE COFFEY BROS) v TRAVIS BANKS

- Wolfgang is mocking Banks' injured shoulder.

- He howls... so Banks forearms him. GOOD.

- A volley of kicks to the chest sends Wolfgang into the corner.

- Wolfgang amnages to regain control and sends the injured shoulder of Banks into the ringpost!

- Banks then lands shoulder first into the ring steps!

- More kicks from Banks, but Wolfgang catches the last and responds with a forearm.

- Dropkick to the outside by Banks!

- Double stomp off the top rope by Banks!

- Mark Coffey causes the distraction...

- SPEAR by Wolfgang!

- Springboard shining wizard from Banks!

- Both Coffey Brothers get on the apron...

- Tyler Bate and Trent Seven arrive to even the odds!

- Low angle tope from Banks!

- Trent Seven holds Wolfgang's ankle as he tries to suplex Banks back in the ring, so Banks lands on top of him... it's Bobby Heenan and Ultimate Warrior all over again!

- TRAVIS BANKS WINS!

- Banks gets the win upon his return, but it was thanks to Trent Seven. This sets up next week's main event between Sevan and Joe Coffey. Lovely stuff.
