205 LIVE RECAP (26/12/2018)

Writer's picture: WSBFWSBF

G'day again from stinking hot Queensland Australia and happy Boxing Day. This week's 205 Live has a slightly different flavour as it is a "Best of" edition for 2018. So this week I'm not going to run down the in ring action as for loyal viewers (and reader) of the show (and article) it's probably the second time you've seen these contests. What I'll do instead, is address anyone who miraculously happens to be reading my recaps but doesn't watch the show.

I want to take this opportunity to talk to that person out there who feels like they would like to watch 205 live but it's just an extra hour on an already overcrowded wrestling calendar. I want to take this opportunity to talk to that person out there who would like to start watching 205 Live for the first time but isn't overly sure where to start.

Guys, this is the episode to start with. Next week 205 Live starts an entire new chapter and story arc with no overhanging feuds or issues. There are no pressing storylines that you would need to understand to start watching fresh now. In fact all you really need to know is the new story for 2019 is going to be that of a dominant champion being chased by worthy challengers. You want more information you say?

Even better than the fresh start in the new year is that on this week's episode, the story of the championship title and how it came to be in the possession of the Archetypal Aussie, Buddy Murphy, is laid out for you step by step. I thought this was about as good as a "best of" show could be because it wasn't just about random matches, but a recap of the narrative of the championship; after all, that's why we are all here right?

THE 'BEST OF' MATCHES

Cedric Alexander (C) vs. Mustafa Ali - Wrestlemania

Cedric Alexander (C) vs. Buddy Murphy - Super Showdown Melbourne

Buddy Murphy (C) vs. Mustafa Ali - Survivor Series

Finally the show finished with the announcement of three qualifying matches to decide Buddy Murphy's opponents in a Fatal Four Way at the Royal Rumble...

THE QUALIFYING MATCHES

Kalisto vs. Lio "Coors Light" Rush

Akira Tozawa vs. Drew Gulak

Cedric Alexander vs. Hideo Itami

I can't wait to count the Spanish Flies with you in the upcoming weeks. Happy New Year, Enjoy January 4th and remember that wrestling should be fun.
