205 Live (21/11/2018)

Writer's picture: WSBFWSBF

We begin the show with highlights of the excellent Cruiserweight title match between Buddy Murphy and Mustafa Ali. It was an insane match with spots galore and they both won over a disinterested crowd to begin with. What for Ali now that he has lost his second chance at the gold? And who is next in line to face Murphy?

BUDDY MURPHY PROMO

Buddy Murphy is on the stage cutting a promo. What is this, RAW? Welcome to MY 205 Live, says the champ. Did you really think Mustafa Ali was going to beat me at Survivor Series? You opinion means nothing to me, because I proved that you can't stop the unstoppable.

TONY NESE (W/ BUDDY MURPHY) v NOAM DAR

Commentary mention that many are sceptical about the friendship between Nese and Murphy. Dar gets a VT promo and says he has been splitting time between NXT UK (where he has put on awesome matches) and 205 Live and now it's time to set the cruiserweight division alight. He says he can think of eight reasons to knock Nese's head off - he's referring to his abs. guys.

- Nese uses his superior strength to throw Dar into the corner. He then flaunts his bicep in the Scots face. What a douche.

- Nese tries to do so again, but Dar locks in a standing armbar! GOOD.

- Twisting backslide for 2 by Dar!

- Dar baseball slides Nese off the apron to the outside...

- Murphy is tending to his mate, Dar comes outside and tells him to "Back off, dafty."

- Nese reverses an Irish whip into the ring and hits a chestbreaker on the outside.

- Leg scissors back in the ring by Nese.

- Murphy screams "This is why we run this division."

- Nese misses the running crossbody!

- Dar kicks Nese off the ropes!

- Northern lights suplex for 2 by Dar.

- Guillotine by Dar...

- Nese breaks free!

- Tony Nese goes for the springboard moonsault. misses but lands on his feet.

- Straight back into the guillotine by Dar!

- Nese uses his strength to reverse it into a suplex!

- HUGE forearm from Nese!

- Dar gets a 2 with a single leg dropkick

- Behind the ref's back Murphy drags the leg of Dar, distracting him.

- German suplex into the bottom turnbuckle by Nese! Ouch.

- RUNNING KNEE IN THE CORNER!

- TONY NESE WINS!

- Post match, Murphy cheap shots Dar and kicks him out of the ring.

- A nice, long match for Dar to get stuck into, which is what he's best at. He only lost because of Murphy, whilst Nese gets the win and keeps their tandem looking strong. Great stuff.

MUSTAFA ALI VT

You see Mustafa set up the camera backstage then sit in front of it. I'm hurt. It's not just physical, it's in my head too. I don't want to forget this pain, I want to embrace it. That way - when I'm tempted to feel down, this pain will drive me. I'm going to take this pain and turn it into power. I promise I will become the new champion.

- I love that Ali gets a different vibe for his promos. His cadence and delivery are exclusive to him and he comes across brilliantly as a babyface in my opinion. Go get em, champ in waiting!

MAVERICK DRAKE & CEDRIC ALEXANDER BACKSTAGE

Maverick congratulates Cedric on his win over Lio Rush last week. He says that there is a match he has always wanted to see in 205 Live and next week, Cedric will team with Mustafa Ali to take on Tony Nese and Buddy Murphy!

- Now there is a fucking main event. HYPED for that.

AKIRA TOZAWA & BRIAN KENDRICK v FIDEL BRAVO & RICHIE SLADE

Commentary mention that Tozawa and Kendrick had a miscue last week that led to Tozawa losing his match.

It cuts to Brian Kendrick and Drew Gulak backstage and they say that Tozawa and Kendrick aren't a real tag team like the 'Submission commission'. Is that their new name? I like that. If they have the gall to get back in the ring with them... they will tap out.

- Kendrick starts but quickly tags in Tozawa who hits a flying back senton with added AWOOOO.

- Tozawa gets the crowd going with his AHH AHH AHH AHH

- Double big boots from Kendrick and Tozawa

- Commentary mention the more time they can spend in the ring together, the better.

- Shining wizard by Tozawa!

- Flatliner and kick to the head combo!

- Heel kick by Kendrick and he tags in Tozawa

- Missile dropkick!

- Oh no! A messy sliced bread #2 by Kendrick, but he just about styled it out.

- Tozawa heads up top and lands the back senton!

- TOZAWA & KENDRICK WIN!

- Tozawa gets Kendrick to join in his ramping up of the crowd. He's not having it at first, but is coerced into it and the pair hug after. The bizarre tandem are together as one!

- Plenty of double team moves here from the new tag partners in a showcase that they could improve on last week''s effort. The jobbers were decent in their role too, despite one of them looking a bit like a cross between Keith Lemon and Har Mar Superstar.

BUDDY MURPHY & TONY NESE BACKSTAGE

Dasha says next week's tag is already being called the biggest tag team match in 205 Live history. What is their thoughts on the match? Murphy jokes are we finally getting a tag team championship? He then goes on to say he has already beaten both Ali and Alexander on his own... imagine what he can do with Nese alongside him! Nese tells Dasha she is better than that question.

- The cockiness of this pair knows no bounds. Can they back up their words next week?

GRAN METALIK (W/ LUCHA HOUSE PARTY) v TJP (W/ MIKE & MARIA KANELLIS)

We are reminded of TJP's attack on Gran Metalik three weeks ago that resulted in him stealing yet another lucha mask off their faces. This one is personal. Kanellis and TJP come out wearing the stolen masks of the luchadors. Great heat.

The show of disrespect has the three members of Lucha House Party go up the ramp to confront them but GM Drake Maverick and a host of officials are on hand to stop this descending into chaos. He sends everyone but TJP and Metalik to the back.

- Wow. Metalik starts with a dropkick and a tope con hilo! Bloody hell!

- Springboard splash for 2 by Metalik.

- TJP powders, looking to take the countout loss.

- Metalik catches up with him and rolls him back in the ring, hitting a reverse sling blade.

- Gran Metalik walks the rope but does a jumping nothing and gets caught in a deathlock.

- Commentary remind us this is a repeat of the CWC Final! Oh yeah!

- TJP rips at the mask of Metalik.

- SMOOTH arm drags from Metalik. I love how crisp he is.

- SLAPS from Metalik. He can be pretty stiff too!

- TJP sinks in a leg grapevine, neck bridge combo. That's lovely.

- Metalik is able to reach the rope to break the hold.

- Gran Metalik enziguris and dropkicks TJP in the corner.

- Moonsault but straight legs up by TJP. I remember the first time I saw that live, Haskins did it to Ospreay at The Ballroom and my mind was blown.

- Powerbomb for 2 by TJP.

- King of the Ropes dropkick lands for Metalik! How does he do that?!!

- WOW. Metalik launches himself over the ropes and lands a hurricanrana on TJP who was stood on the apron!

- METALIK DRIVER!

- Rather than going for the win, Metalik goes for the top rope elbow and TJP catches it, reversing it into an armbar!

- KNEE BAR!

- Will Metalik tap out?

- No, he reaches the rope!

- TJP grabs the pinata to get into Metalik's head, but he catches TJP with a slap and a victory roll for the 3.

- GRAN METALIK WINS!

- Lucha House Party come into the ring to celebrate with and congratulate Metalik.

- Maria comes to the stage screaming how could you? I have a family! She is really hamming it up and Drake Maverick doesn't know what to do.

- Mike Kanellis attacks all three Luchas from behind with a chair as Maria starts laughing, hands the mic to Drake and smirks at him.

- TJP has Metalik in the knee bar and Drake gets them to walk away.

- This was an excellent match. I love Metalik, he hasn't yet become a WWE match guy and his bouts always come off as fresh and entertaining to me. He got the win, but the heels kept their heat thanks to the post match attack. Brilliant stuff.
